Revival Updates
Haha, DH to revive the blog.
Here is a message from our dearest Chen Wen Qiang senior, he would like to have a party for Yong Jun before he leaves. Right now, our current options are only left to: K-box and Banquet as a form of party which is acceptable.
If you have any more ideas, tag in the tagbox!

CO Member of the Month: Yong Jun
COngratulations to Yong Jun! You've won yourself the CO Member of the Month position! Now you ask, wasn't it CO Member of the Week? Well, it was only a matter of time before someone realized that there weren't enough CO members for one CO member a Week, and that someone happened to be me! Okay, let's give the spotlight back to Yong Jun.
Yong Jun
Age: Older than a JY
Height: Taller than a JY
Weight: Heavier than a JY
YJ is one of the few people keeping yangqin afloat, after Wenqiang left, with Mok totally slacking and Johnathan still sec 2. Sadly Yong Jun is leaving after June for Shanghai, and he's bringing his yangqin along. Next year, Mok will the the sec 4 yangqin player ZOMG and Gilbert will be gone, so it's safe to say that yangqin will be just Johnathan and the 2 sec ones.

New directive: attendance and conduct
This is from Ren Yan:
In short, attendance WILL be taken. No ponning or coming late to practice without accepted reasons. RICO is our core CCA, so have more ownership in it.
Dear all,
This is primarily directed at SLs, but I'd like all of you to see it as well.
In alignment with our directive to tighten discipline as a large core CCA, we will be implementing stricter rules with regard to attendance.
With effect from 21st Jan (next Monday's sectionals), all SLs will take attendance during practice and send an sms to myself by 9pm, with a list of absentees and excuses (if any).
Practice excuse forms will be finalized one last time and will become mandatory by February.
All SLs are required to send attendance for their charges for all practices this year to date - the 5th, 7th, 12th and 14th of January - to Samuel as well as myself ( tdaoming@yahoo.com.sg and yoongrenyan@gmail.com) by this Sunday.
We will be doing the necessary tracking, and figuratively hunting down those who choose to absent themselves at their own will.
Appropriate actions will be taken and implemented along with the demerit point system by the March holidays.
We cannot tolerate members who persistently waive their obligation to this CCA.
We trust that members will be responsible enough to tell us of any other commitments warranting missing practice as early as possible.
Thank you all for your cooperation.
Regards,
Ren Yan

A New Year.
Tanbo, lets start anew shall we? A new year comes with a new start. And new rules.
Since we have a new teacher, it would be rather appropriate to give ourselves a chance to start anew and keep the teacher-student relationship good, since ahem last year our sectionals weren't exactly the best that we could have.
1. Be punctual. (Ok try to be punctual, I know the RJCCO room is farrrrrrrr away). Make sure you reach the classroom latest 3.45.
2. Greet the teacher. Be it in Chinese or English or (Mr Seetoh knows cantonese btw) what-have-you, please greet. Even a "Hi Mr Seetoh" would be great.
3. Start preparing (tuning and de-rusting your strings) straightaway. I don't really understand why some of you can stone and stare blankly in the air even when the teacher is right in front of you. If you need some time to settle down after the walk from RJC, at least pretend to start preparing =).
4. Sit in sections. (As far as possible, sit together as a section, be it Zhongruan section or whatver. Looking out for each other's mistakes and having xiao-xiao-zu together is good =).
5. Be on your best behaviour at all times =). Sectionals are precious time for practice. If you haven't realized, RICO is having two practices are week compared to most ccas with 3, so treasure your time in sectionals. Lets try as hard as possible to obtain a clean sheet this year! That is, zero (teacher-walking-out-in-anger-and-students-feeling-at-loss situations).
=) =) =) Last week was full attendance for tanbo! At least minus yangqin section, who hmmm I believe are at hard work too. So keep it up! =) =) =)
Rock on.

Regarding Next Practice
Just a gentle reminder.
There IS practice on Sat (5/1). Dazu. Starts from 2.00 pm for Tanners. 3-4.15 is Self-Practice for all. (We are playing 家家乐.) 4.15-5 will be the shifting of instruments. As there will be Raffles Trail later on, please cooperate with Mr Lim as he rehearses the pieces from 5-5.30, as last year's Sec 4s are now JC1s and I don't think they will come back. 5.30-6.30 is dinner break. Please remember to be back punctually.
Please remember to wear proper school uniform and tie as this is a formal occasion. Sec 3s can't wear Long Pants until after OBS. This will end at 7.45 at the latest, then we will proceed to shifting instruments back to RJCO room.
